Hi!  I’m Stacy Stateham, and I’m the heart and brain behind Dragonfly Social.  Nice to meet you!   I think, I blog, I teach, and I’m really passionate about what I do. 

Some of us see that the world around us has changed, and the way that we market our businesses has to adapt for us to continue to grow.  I’ve seen first hand what social media has done for my own businesses, as well as those of friends that I’ve been able to help along the way.

Even if you have an awesome product or service and you’re passionate about your business, it can be hard to get the word out, especially when you’re struggling with social media.  Many small business owners don’t know where to start, let alone understand the little things that need to be done along the way that make the big difference.  That’s where I can help.

Social media sites and tools are constantly evolving and so are the ways that you can use them to market your small business.   Blog are quickly replacing webpages, Facebook has made the phone book obsolete, Pinterest is taking off like a rocket, and don’t even get me started on Twitter.  I live in the Web 2.0 world.  I blog, I market online, and I stay on top of the trends.. that’s why I know what works and what doesn’t.  Because I use the same tools that I teach my clients to use, I can give you the ground level how-to’s from a real world point of view.

There’s a lot more to online marketing than having a good looking website.  Many website companies haven’t embraced social media and inbound marketing, despite the fact that the statistics show that they’re the most effective means of marketing a small business.  They can build a website that looks great, but in most cases they won’t teach you how to drive traffic to it, and other than the annual charges and design updates, most aren’t there beside you in the trenches.  They offer a tool – not the knowledge that you need to know how to leverage it.   It’s not about the tools – it’s knowing which tools to use for what and knowing how to use them.   You do need the tools, but what you really need is someone to teach you how to use them.

I can show you how to easily master the social web, determine the best ways to reach the right customer base for your company, and most importantly how to turn your online connections into paying customers.

Why did I start Dragonfly?

Dragonfly Social grew organically out of my local business connections looking for help, friends who just needed help getting started, and my passion for sharing the strategies and tactics that I know work.  I focus primarily on small to mid-sized local businesses for three reasons.  First, because I feel like they have the largest opportunity for growth, they’re targeting a hyper-local customer base, and small marketing budgets because social media marketing is perfect for all three.  Secondly, because a lot of the big marketing companies don’t know our local market, network with other businesses and people in our community, and so they can’t connect and engage the same way that someone local can.  Third, I love working with people who are as passionate about their business and I am about mine.
